   Holy Tee Shots Batman !

The newest version of the Batman is coming out June 15th and it reminded me of the original tv batman from the 60's that started the Batmania craze actor Adam West.To baby boomers Adam was the man we all identified as the caped crusader because he came into our homes twice a week on primetime tv when there were only 3 main channels back in the mid-late 1960's.This was truly must see tv because it appealed to younger and older audiences alike.Adam told me there were the three B's back in the 60's The Beatles,Bond and Batman.

As a golf pro who runs a number of celebrity charity golf events throughout the world I have the opportunity to invite a diverse group of celebrities from the world of sports, movies,tv and music to our worthwhile events. It was always in the back of my mind to one day meet Adam because he was someone from my youth that I admired very much. With golf being the central theme of our outings to raise money for numerous charities I contacted Adam to see if he would be interested in participating as our guest.I didn't know if he played golf or not, which wasn't a prerequiste to attend. After we finally spoke on the phone Adam told me golf unfortunately was a sport he hadn't taken up and regretted it because he saw many of his fellow actors take advantage of the networking opportunities the game afforded them.I told him when we get together I would be more than happy to give him a crash course on the game.I piqued his interest because Adam knows that golf is a very popular sport not only in the U.S. but throughout the world.

In our discussions we talked about working together on a golf related project. In this case a unique video golf instructional series where Adam would join forces with me to uncover the secrets of how to play the game of golf.Remember that Batman was one of the world's greatest detectives. We would be golf's newest dynamic duo.Ironically,I have the same last name as the actor who portrayed Robin in the tv series named Burt Ward. The idea for the videos would be having good sound instruction which would be easy to follow for a beginner to an advanced player as well as interjecting humor to make learning educational as well as entertaining.Adam has terrific comedic timing and a great sense of humor.Along the way Adam and I would run into an assortment of colorful characters who try to sabotage golfers on their quest to playing good golf.Evil villians like the Bogeyman, the Shanker,The Hooker and Slicer,etc...Every episode would end with us helping golfers with their swing problems as well as solving a weekly mystery on the links.Just when we thought our work was done the commissoner of golf would contact us via the Golf ball signal in the sky.As we rushed towards the commsioners office I would toss the keys to Adam as we headed out for our next assignment.Adam would utter those famous words that we all know with a slight twist,"To the birdie-mobile!"Hopefully one day this fun series will come to fruition."Let's do it before I die!"he said. What he meant was before I die.Holy Heart attack!

Adam is a great guy who remains busy doing movies and commercials. He's in great shape and still going strong at age 76.It's nice to know that when you meet people you admired from afar they don't disapoint.I'm happy to report that Adam is one of those people who I am glad to call my friend. To learn more about the original Batman checkout his website at www.adamwest.com.
