  Knee Position:

Knee action affects all body movements, especially foot and leg action. At address, the starting position, both knees should be flexed and pinched inward slightly to transfer the wieght to the inside of the feet. The right knee should be kept as close to this position as possible as you reach the top of your backswing. This knee position will help you maintain your swing center.

Knee action is tied to hip action. The knee position,by keeping the weight to the inside of the feet creates good foot action and allows stance to support the swing center.

The big mistake I see a lot of golfers make is allowing their weight to move to the outside of their right foot on the backswing. This is a recipe for disaster! The rotation of the hips on the backswing should bring the left knee in and back towards the ball. The left knee in this flexed position should lead the down and through swing by moving towards the target. The longer the knees stay flexed in the forward swing the longer the club stays on the target line, adding distance as well as direction.

A very common fault is straightening or bracing the right knee on the downswing. This is a natural reaction created by a hitting action not a swinging action. After keeping the clubface travel on the target as long as the body movements allow, the upswing(follow-through) is a result of the prior body motions.

Any type of exercises you can do to keep your legs strong and flexible will be an asset to your golf game.

Golf joke of the week: On this particular saturday morning,Bob was playing a round of golf by himself when all of a sudden the ghost of his old business partner appeared before him."Bill,is that you?" the stunned Bob asked.

"Yes,Bob,it's me,your old partner.I've been in heaven since I died two years ago." "Gosh,Bill.what's it like up there?"

"Well, there are some good things and some bad things about heaven. The golf courses are magnificent and you never have to wait to play."

Bob stratched his head."All that sounds great, what could possibly be bad about it?" The ghost looked at Bob,"You and I have a tee time of 8 am tomorrow."
