  Learning levels of golf:

My experience through teaching people golf for over 20 years is that everyone needs to be approached differently in order to communicate your point properly. This applies not only to golf, but to almost anything one does in a educational environment.

The 3 most important channels pertaining to golf are visually, auditorally and kinestically.Basically seeing, hearing and feeling. It's important to find out which best fits your style for learning.

The majority of the time people tend to favor seeing and then attempting to duplicate the movements as they relate to the golf swing.Others prefer to process all the information internally first before moving on.Feeling is an often overlooked area, yetI feel that when all is said and done it becomes the most important.

All of us do all three when it comes to playing golf, however the key to achieving your goals is finding out in which order these need to be aligned for you to trigger the response to your own learning success. For example,I like to see something first, then feel how to do it.Finally, hearing how it's done.Everyone is different when it comes to your mental syntax of order.

All three are essential to producing the golf swing that you desire.Next, I have a series of questions I ask that will uncover the order that you do things so we can develop a program that is tailor made to your needs.

Ultimately, where people have trouble learning golf is because they have been mis-programmed,usually by family or friends.I've heard countless stories over the years about how husbands and wives have nearly come to divorce because one is imparting information to the other and can't understand why the other doesn't get it."Different words mean different things to different people" is a classic statement illustrating how dangerous information can be taken out of context. Don't let someone else's opinions effect you unless they can validate their advice to you. Just because someone might play a decent game of golf doesn't guarentee that their insight is going to greatly assist you.Like going to a doctor, sometimes it's best to get a second opinion from qualified sources that you respect.

Once you see, hear and feel how the game should be played it will become a sport that you'll enjoy playing for the rest of your life!
