Starting Out Properly

What's the easiest shot in golf that all beginners can properly execute? It's the "Gimmie" putt. As the distance between the cup and the ball becomes greater the tougher it becomes to make the putts. Starting with this idea in mine you will see that it makes sense to start with smaller swings, and then building up to the full swing.

This is why it's best to for a person to learn and teach the body the correct motions in developing an accurate and powerful swing by starting with the short swing, and then proceeding forward. Try learning the full swing first is much more difficult in training the correct muscle coordination that the full swing requires. Learning to hit for distance, and then for accuracy is putting the cart before the horse. It works the other way around. Ultimately, accuracy will create distance so it makes sense to swing, not hit the ball as you will see.

Putting is a good example of this hitting tendency. The closer the target the easier it is to make a good stroke. A three foot putt is easier than a ten footer. Why? The closer to the target the less inclination there is to hit. No desire to hit encourages a stroking or swinging motion.

As you learn through these lessons you will observe that these simple techniques will endure, and require low maintenance. Good solid fundamentals are essential to success in anything! The alternative is to spend your time and money on gimmicks, and quick fix solutions that will have you more confused, and frustrated in reaching your own individual goals that you set for yourself in this wonderful game.
